[ARCHIVE] Leveraging the Power Of Community — Aion Improvement Proposals (AIPs)

Open source software and projects are in a continual state of evolution and growth. Their objectives and roadmap must be flexible to represent the evolving requirements of their users and the broader shifts the environment they operate in. As a decentralized open source blockchain network, engaging with our user base and key stakeholders in a formalized process is essential to hear their feedback, collaborate on ideas and build a better future, together.

Today, marks the start of these conversations with the launch of Aion Improvement Proposals.

Aion Improvement Proposals (AIPs) serve as the formal process for the Aion community to suggest, debate, collaborate and come to a consensus on improvements to the Aion codebase and its surrounding ecosystem. Over the past few months we have researched and experienced the proposal processes for many open-source projects. With AIPs we’ve taken the opportunity to combine these lessons learned from enterprise software, developer tools and other blockchain projects to create a process focused on execution, transparency and engagement.

Over the next couple of weeks you will begin to see innovative standards, features and requests being proposed. We encourage all of you to review the process, provide feedback and begin brainstorming potential AIP’s with your fellow community members!

The AIP Process can be found here, please provide any feedback in the form of comments on the issue or on the Aion forum thread.
